Why Vesper is different
Vesper isn't just another multiplexer. It was built to solve the real-world frustrations that power users face with older tools.
Escape nested session hell
Anyone who lives in the terminal has felt this pain: you ssh from your local multiplexer
into a remote server that's also running one. Suddenly, your muscle memory betrays you. You're forced to
press your prefix key twice just to control the remote session, completely breaking your workflow.
Vesper solves this architecturally, making local and remote sessions seamless. The 'double prefix dance'
is a thing of the past.
A clipboard that just works
Stop juggling buffers. In older multiplexers, copying text to your system's clipboard requires special configuration or multi-step commands. Vesper provides direct, out-of-the-box access to the system clipboard on both Windows and Linux. Highlight text, copy it, and paste it outside the terminal like you would in any other modern application.
Automatic session restore you can trust
Vesper's session management is designed to be completely reliable. It's enabled by default and automatically saves your workspace. If your connection drops or you need to restart, you can re-attach with confidence, knowing your entire layout, including running processes, is exactly as you left it.
Floating panes: break the grid
Your workflow isn't always a perfect grid. Vesper supports floating panes, allowing you to temporarily overlay a small window for tasks like looking up a command, managing a background process, or keeping an eye on a log file without disrupting your main tiled layout. It's the ultimate in workspace flexibility.

An animated GIF showing a tiled layout, then a
key is pressed and a small, floating "htop" or "man page" window appears over the top. The user
interacts with it, then closes it, returning to the undisturbed tiled layout.
